Where is God?

In this episode of Seeking with Shari, “Where is God?”, Shari explores the omnipresence of God, addressing the common question of His location and presence in our lives, even in times of difficulty. She clarifies that God is not limited by time or space and is actively involved in His creation, from the vastness of the universe to the smallest particles.

Through her message and these powerful scriptures, she reminds us that God is always present and accessible:

  • Psalm 139:7-10 – “Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.” This psalm powerfully illustrates God’s omnipresence, emphasizing that there is no place where we can escape His presence.
  • Jeremiah 23:23-24 – “‘Am I a God at hand,’ declares the Lord, ‘and not a God far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.” This scripture highlights God’s immediate presence everywhere and His ability to see all things because He fills all creation.
  • Acts 17:27-28 – “…that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being.'” This passage from Paul’s sermon in Athens explains that God is not far from us and that our very existence is within Him, encouraging us to seek and find Him.
  • 1 Kings 8:27 – “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!” Solomon’s prayer acknowledges that God’s presence transcends any physical dwelling, emphasizing His boundless nature.
  • Matthew 28:20 – “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This promise from Jesus assures believers of His constant presence through the Holy Spirit.
  • Deuteronomy 4:29 – “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul”. This verse encourages a heartfelt search for God, promising that He will be found by those who earnestly seek Him.
